Our Purpose
WattsUp educates and signs up subscribers to the New Mexico Community Solar program. We work with solar developers (Subscriber Organizations) and subscription providers (Subscription Managers) to get community solar projects fully subscribed to in a timely manner. In the state's program, WattsUp is called a Subscriber Aggregator.
Value Proposition:
WattsUp adds value by quickly enrolling New Mexicans in the state's program through established relationships in the community. We do this ethically by providing accurate information and adhering to the state's consumer protections. We also work to achieve the program’s intended economic benefit for New Mexico.
Goal:
Our goal is to facilitate the enrollment of 25% or more of the state’s subscribers in Phase 1 of the 200-MW Community Solar program in 2025-2026 and 35% or more in Phase 2 of the 300-MW offering in 2027-2028. Additionally, we aim to collaborate with community solar developers and subscription managers to ensure sustained capacity for a New Mexico-based workforce of approximately 20 workers, continuously developing their careers in renewable energy and low-income community engagement.
In Phase 1, if WattsUp achieves the goal of facilitating 25% of the state’s subscriber capacity, we will contribute over $1.2 million in annual savings for low-income households and over $40,000 in savings for commercial and residential subscribers. This effort will enable 50 MW (120 MWh) of renewable energy projects in New Mexico, reducing carbon emissions by an equivalent of 69,000 metric tons of CO2 annually.
